QUESTIONS
Towing legislation
Towing legislation has changed over the years and in some aspects has become quite technical. We will not attempt to deal with it in detail here but will arm you with the simple facts that will keep you legal when on the road.
These two diagrams give you the information you will need to calculate what weight you can legally tow either braked or unbraked.
IMPORTANT: Most licenses that are issued are “B” licenses which entitles you to tow a trailer with a GVM of up to 750 kg. Above that (boat/caravan etc) you require an “EB” license. This is not onerous and is highly recommended.
